2023 Spring Break Camps

Hi, I’m over here checking every day for crocus in my garden….no crocus yet, but it is already time to plan for Spring Break. Hopefully by the time it gets here we will have daffodils. I’m looking forward to warmer weather so the kids can play outside. Many of our favorite spring break camps are outside too!

As usual, we’ve tried to make things a little easier for you by rounding up our favorite Spring Break Camps for you to choose from.

If you’re looking even further ahead to the summer (look at you planning ahead!), Spring Break is a great opportunity to try out a camp that you’re considering for the summer as well. On that note, if you’re also ready to sign up for summer camp, don’t forget to check out all the new and updated camp listings in our Virtual Camp Expo and stay tuned for summer camp round ups coming soon.

Stoke your creativity, find your funny bone, and exercise your imagination in this dynamic theater arts class. Led by professional actors from Child’s Play NY, students get to play with their peers and learn new games and story-telling techniques. The class involves gross-motor workouts that warm-up the actor’s instrument, followed by improv and acting technique work. Young people learn how to think on their feet, work spontaneously and give their creativity a work-out. Classic myths and fables are the springboard for new scripts that are developed throughout the course of the semester. Prioritize play and bring expressivity center stage this week!

Ages 7-11: Improvaganza at 121 Pierrepont Street

April 6, 7, and 10-14 from 9a-3p
Campers can enroll in one or all days. All days will have a different theme!
Yes…And! In this dynamic improv class, students learn the tools to think on their feet, listen and respond with wit, and be creative in the moment. We start each class with warm-ups, shaking out inhibitions, and then we move into games that foster collaboration. Students get practice being spontaneous, collaborative and hilarious while making something they can be proud of. Improvisation is not only a great part of the actor’s toolbox, it is a powerful social skill that gets kids trusting their instincts, shifting perspective, and most importantly having fun!
